Team Member and Client Safety

Sport Clips Haircuts locations around the country are now open for business. For more than 25 years, Sport Clips has been committed to ensuring the well-being of our Clients and Team Members, and we have enhanced those efforts to ensure our processes are better, safer and cleaner than ever. When you visit us, you'll notice some changes to our processes and to the physical set-up of the store.

Before we get to that, we strongly recommend Clients use Online Check In before heading to any Sport Clips location. Because provinces, health regions and municipalities are opening up at different times, and have varied guidelines, so do our stores. The best way to find out if your favorite location is open for business is to use Online Check In, where you can check the store's operating hours, view Stylist availability and schedule your service with an estimated wait time. Head here to get set up with Online Check in via web or app!

Once you get to the store for your haircut service, here's what we're doing to keep Clients and Team Members safe:


“Sport Clips Clean Commitment”

Stylists have completed training courses on cleaning, disinfection and sanitation specific to COVID-19. You'll also notice the addition of disinfectant at each cutting station, hand sanitizer throughout the store for Stylist and Client use, and cleaning and wiping down surfaces between each Client.


Wellness Checks

Stylists are required to complete Wellness Checks and must be cleared before they can begin their shift. Clients will be asked questions about their general health and if they aren't feeling well, are running fever or have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19, will be asked to come back later for their haircut.



For the safety of our Team Members and Clients, all Stylists are required to wear masks while they are working.

We strongly recommend that all Clients bring and wear a mask. But don't worry - if you don't have a mask, we have disposable masks available for you. Sport Clips stores will follow provincial and local mandates.


Haircut Services

To limit contact between Stylists and Clients, you'll notice some changes in our haircut services.

  • We'd love to greet you with a handshake, but we'll be giving you a wave, a nod, an "air-five" or some other non-contact welcome when you arrive.
  • Each Client receives a clean cape for the service.
  • Clients who receive services that include the hot towel treatment will notice additional cleaning procedures after the MVP service.
  • Beard and eyebrow trims may not be offered, depending on mandates.
  • Depending on provincial and local regulations, some stores may be limited in the Legendary Hot Steam Towel services they are allowed to offer.


Store Layout

To maintain social distancing requirements, some changes have been made to the layout of the store.

  • Removal of chairs (or non-use of those chairs) from the cutting floor to allow for enough space to put six feet minimum distance between each one.
  • Removal of chairs in the waiting area to minimize the number of Clients in the store at one time. At some locations, there will be chairs placed outdoors where Clients can wait. Clients can also wait in their vehicles in the parking lot.
  • Limiting use of chairs in the shower/shampoo area to ensure proper spacing between Clients.


Check In/Check Out

We'll say it again - Online Check In is the way to go to limit your wait time and your time spent in the store.

  • Whether you use Online Check In or not, when you arrive at the store, please let a Stylist know you're there - especially if you are waiting outside the store.
  • In some areas, where a scheduled service time is required, we will provide the next available service time, confirm your spot and provide the estimated arrival time for your service.
  • When opted in the text option in our Online Check app or web portal, the Client will receive a text reminder 15 minutes before the estimated arrival time.

  • When you check out, you'll still need to use the kiosk, but stores may have protective covers over the keyboard, and encourage you to use a pen or rubber tipped stylus pen. We clean these after every Client, so they are clean when you use them.
  • Consider contactless payment methods. Sport Clips accepts Apple Pay®, Google Pay™, Samsung Pay, as well as debit and credit cards with the contactless symbol.


We know things are going to be different for a while, but what hasn't changed is the superior service and the MVP haircut experience you receive at Sport Clips. Whether you waited for us and can't wait to get that first haircut in weeks, or you attempted an at-home cut that needs to be fixed, Sport Clips Stylists are here to get you cleaned up, trimmed up, and fixed up so you can look and feel your best!
